Prepare your favorite recipes in the well-equipped, eat-in kitchen and then meet up in the cozy living area where you can build a warm fire in the raised hearth wood stove and watch your favorite movies and shows projected on a pull-down screen. A propane wall heater adds supplemental warmth throughout the space.

Gualala is located on the Mendocino-Sonoma County border, about 2.5 hours north of San Francisco via Highway 101 to Highway 1. Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) in Santa Rosa is the nearest airport, roughly 90 minutes east. A car is recommended. Highway 1 offers one of California’s most spectacular coastal drives.

Visit in spring for wildflower season -- the hills above Gualala and the river trails burst with lupine and California poppies. June through September brings the warmest weather. Morning fog is part of the charm -- it usually clears to reveal blue skies.
