The Space:
The "Athena Epavlis" is a luxurious villa with modern amenities and classic elegance, and is one of two twin villas situated on the ridge edge of Ravdoucha village. It boasts stunning, panoramic views of the Aegean sea and is surrounded by a beautiful garden filled with aromatic plants and trees.
The villa is spread across two levels, with several balconies and a terrace on the north side offering magnificent views of the turquoise sea. The private 40 sq. metre infinity swimming pool overlooks the sea and surrounding mountains, and there is a poolside pergola with four sun-beds and an open shower. The garden also features a built-in BBQ and dining area, and guests have access to a private gym.
Inside, the villa is adorned with luxury furnishings and rare rosa portogallo marble surfaces in the bathrooms. The ambiance is designed to create a calming and relaxing atmosphere.
The ground floor features two master bedrooms with private ensuite bathrooms. Both bedrooms are equipped with an office desk, sound system, DVD player, television, individual safe boxes, high-quality anatomic mattresses, bathrobes, slippers, towels, and high-quality sheets. Each bathroom includes a basin, toilet, bidet, a selection of organic cosmetic products by "Korres natural products," a hairdryer, and a shaver power outlet. The first bedroom has a king size bed and a hot tub with a chromotherapy feature in its bathroom. The second bedroom has two single beds and a shower with water jets in the bathroom.
The top floor features a fully equipped kitchen with high-end appliances, including an oven and stove, dishwasher, kettle, several coffee makers, grill, toaster, egg cooker, fruit squeezer, and a dining area for six. Guests can also enjoy the villa’s wine selection of well-known Greek varieties, which is available in a premium "Bauknecht" wine cooling cabinet. The living room offers comfortable seating with stunning views, a modern fireplace, a sound system with iPod and iPhone connectivity, a 42-inch satellite 3D television, and an extensive collection of DVDs, music CDs, and books. There is also a guest bathroom with a toilet, washer, and shower, as well as a laundry room.
The villa is equipped with A/C units in every room, and guests are provided with pool towels, a portable refrigerator, and sun umbrellas for excursions. A welcome basket is also provided for the first day of the stay. The cleaning service runs twice a week and includes weekly pool and garden maintenance. The villa is protected by a security and fire alarm system, and there is private parking space for two cars. Upon request, the villa staff can help guests arrange for an on-call doctor, massage therapist, on-demand cleaning service, baby sitting, daily excursions, bicycle rental, photographer, home delivery of traditional Cretan food, airport transfer, or a private in-house chef.

The Neighborhood:
Ravdoucha Epavlis is located just 500m from the village center and less than 2km from the nearest beach. The area is one of the still unspoiled regions of Crete, overlooking the Kissamos bay. Guests can find numerous entertainment options, restaurants, and fish taverns in the nearby village of Kissamos (15km) or Platanias (20km), where they can also find more organized services such as banks, post offices, and full-size supermarkets.
The area offers a wide variety of beaches, both organized and unorganized, for every taste, with some offering boat rental services and water activities. Some of the nearby beaches include Ravdoucha (1.8km), Skotini (2km), Agios Vasilios (3km), Nopigia (8.6km), Chonis (10km), Korfalonas (13km), and the infamous Elafonisi beach (24km).
The location of the villa is an ideal starting point for the exploration of the numerous natural and historic sights of the area. Guests can take a stroll in the picturesque alleyways of the old town of Chania (34km) with the ancient Venetian bay, where they will have the opportunity to admire many monuments of the last 800 years, such as the renowned Egyptian lighthouse. This is also the place for a cosmopolitan night out.
Guests should not miss out on visiting the majestic Castle of Apteron (37km), built on the highest point of the valley of Apokoronas. For a unique hiking experience, guests can explore the gorge of Samaria (55km), a true wonder of nature with countless visitors per year for its rare natural beauty. Scuba diving enthusiasts can visit the magnificent underwater Cave of the Elephants (60km), which was discovered just 30 years ago near the Kokkino Chorio (Red Village), plot of Anthony Queen’s "Zorba the Greek".
Finally, guests can organize a daily excursion to the lake Kournas (70km), the only natural freshwater lake of Crete, and enjoy the breathtaking views and unique experiences that this area has to offer.
