Featuring a spacious layout with upgrades throughout, it comes as no surprise that Hokulani 649 has established itself as one of the most sought-after two-bedroom oceanview suites at the Honua Kai Resort & Spa.
Over $20,000 in custom local artwork adorns the walls along with upgraded internet/Netflix-ready flat screen TVs throughout, the crown jewel of which is the 70" home theater in the living room. The setup is ideal for spending your nights relaxing together before resting peacefully on your pillow-top California king mattress, one of which can be split into two twin beds to make sure everyone is comfortable.
Once the sun rises, the gentle Maui morning will give way to incredible ocean views from the 6th-floor lanai (far above the palm trees that affect lower-floor views). The Hokulani Tower pool glows in the evening, along with sunset views most times of the year from your own lanai, along with stunning views of the island of Lanai. During whale season (December - April) the owner has even provided binoculars so that you can bring the incredible memories even closer.
Few options can offer the views/upgrades and western interior location that Hokulani 649 offers.
This two-bedroom suite can accommodate up to six guests with a king-sized bed in each bedroom and a queen-sized convertible sofa sleeper in the living area. Set in the serenity of the Hokulani Tower interior, enjoy a lush tropical feel with spectacular ocean views.
We encourage you to express your culinary creativity in the well-appointed kitchen. The space is fully equipped with stainless steel Bosch appliances and granite countertops, and we have provided every appliance & utensil to prepare the perfect meal or refreshment... just bring the ingredients. Enjoy your meals on the spacious lanai or dine indoors in the climate-controlled air conditioning. In addition, our commercial-grade Vitamix blender lends itself well to preparing creative libations or smoothies with fresh local produce.
Take pleasure in spending your days at the resort’s three-acre aquatic playground. With four separate swimming pools, a waterslide, waterfalls, fountains, and four hot tubs, there will be no shortage of options for you and your loved ones to enjoy.
When it is time for a bite to eat, Honua Kai is home to the popular Duke’s Beach House, which serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktails. Duke’s specializes in serving up Hawaiian-inspired cuisine using locally sourced ingredients and freshly caught seafood. Should you wish to enjoy a refreshment by the water, poolside service is available. For coffee, sandwiches, and other grab-and-go items, including beach gear and souvenirs, visit the Whalers General Store conveniently located in the Konea Tower lobby.
A state-of-the-art fitness center is located in the Konea Tower, perfect for guests looking to maintain their workout routine during their stay.
Should you feel like pampering yourself with a refreshing massage or treatment, head to the Mana Ola Spa. This sanctuary within the resort weaves Hawaiian-inspired themes and ingredients into its wide array of signature treatments. Revitalize your senses with a Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage, Pohaku Massage, or Purifying Ocean Mineral Facial.
If you wish to avoid excessive baggage fees from the airlines, consider packing lighter and utilizing the washer and dryer in the residence. Free upgraded 300 Mbps high-speed Wi-Fi is available and included with your stay. Complimentary booster seats, high chairs, and futons are also available upon request (based on availability).
Honua Kai occupies 38 pristine beachfront acres on the shores of Kaʻanapali’s North Beach, so you’ll literally be just steps away from the tranquility of Maui’s shoreline. Stroll out to the beach to touch your toes in the soft sand or take a refreshing dip in the Pacific Ocean. An “Ohana Play Package” including beach chairs, BBQ equipment, and a portable cooler is provided complimentary.
If during your stay you require assistance or advice about the surrounding area or the suite, rest assured that you’ll be swiftly taken care of with aloha by one of our friendly and knowledgeable liaisons - hand-picked from West Maui’s leading luxury hotels. Help will never be far away because our offices are ideally located directly across the street.

About the area
Lahaina, Hawaii, is a captivating destination that offers a rich blend of history, culture, and stunning natural beauty. Once the capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom and a bustling whaling port, today Lahaina is a charming town that retains its historical significance while providing all the amenities of a modern vacation spot.
The town's Front Street is a bustling thoroughfare, lined with an array of shops, art galleries, and restaurants. This oceanfront street has been named one of the "Top Ten Greatest Streets" by the American Planning Association. As you stroll down Front Street, the vibrant atmosphere is palpable, with the sounds of live music and the scent of Hawaiian cuisine filling the air.
Lahaina's history is on full display at the Lahaina Historic Trail, which features significant sites such as the Lahaina Banyan Court Park, home to one of the largest banyan trees in the United States. The Old Lahaina Courthouse and the Baldwin Home Museum offer glimpses into the town's past, while the Wo Hing Temple Museum showcases the influence of Chinese immigrants on the island.
For those who love the water, Lahaina is a gateway to some of Maui's best ocean activities. Whale watching tours are a must-do during the winter months when humpback whales migrate to the warm Hawaiian waters. Snorkeling and diving excursions to nearby spots like the partially submerged volcanic crater of Molokini offer encounters with vibrant marine life.
The town's beaches, such as Ka'anapali Beach and Baby Beach, provide perfect settings for sunbathing, swimming, and sunset viewing. Ka'anapali Beach, in particular, is famous for its daily cliff diving ceremony off the northernmost cliffs known as Puu Kekaa, or Black Rock.
Cultural experiences abound in Lahaina, with the Old Lahaina Luau being one of the most authentic luaus in Hawaii. Here, visitors can enjoy traditional Hawaiian food, music, and hula dancing under the stars. The Feast at Lele offers a more intimate luau experience with a sit-down dinner and performances that highlight the diverse cultures of the Pacific.
Lahaina's relaxed vibe, combined with its historical significance and natural beauty, makes it a destination that appeals to a wide range of travelers. Whether you're interested in Hawaiian history, looking for ocean adventures, or simply wanting to enjoy the island's laid-back lifestyle, Lahaina is a place that offers a memorable and enriching Hawaiian experience.
