The gardens and outdoors of this distinctive Italian country house are simply magnificent. An ideal base for touring the beauty of Tuscany, the farmhouse is situated in Orentano, a delightful village full of folks events, food festivals and bespoke restaurants. The highlight of this villa is the proximity to all Tuscan major sites and things to see such as Pisa, Lucca, Pistoia, Florence, San Gimignano, Volterra and Siena: the villa is strate-gically located halfways between all these towns. The beaches of Viareggio, Lido di Ca-maiore and Forte dei Marmi are just 40 mins drive away so it is close to Cinque Terre as well. With its spacious, comfortable interiors and gorgeous outside spaces, it makes a wonderful option both for groups and large families.
The ground floor has a fully equipped country-style kitchen, as well as grand living room with TV and dining area, all of which open to a pleasant porch/veranda overlooking the garden and the pool which is fully furnished with sofas, armchairs and another dining ta-ble. On the ground floor there is also a Master bedroom with its own luxury bathroom and a laundry room.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms, bathed in natural light with 2 luxury bathrooms and a drawing room. The house is fully air conditioned and has a very reliable wifi connection provided by the national phone company.
The private swimming pool is found next to the house, with a cosy gazebo to shade in and eight sun loungers.
The beguiling grounds and interiors were designed by a renowned architect.

About the area
Capannori, a picturesque town in the province of Lucca in Tuscany, Italy, is a destination that offers travelers a serene escape into the heart of the Italian countryside. This area is steeped in history and culture, providing a tranquil alternative to the bustling tourist centers while still offering a wealth of experiences.
One of the town's most notable attractions is the Villa Torrigiani, a stunning example of 16th-century architecture with its magnificent gardens and ornate interiors. The villa is a testament to the grandeur of Italian nobility and provides a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of the past. The gardens, with their intricate landscaping, water features, and statues, are a particular highlight for visitors.
Capannori is also home to the Villa Mansi, another historic estate that captures the essence of Tuscan elegance. The villa's grounds are perfect for leisurely strolls, and the interior, with its frescoes and period furniture, transports visitors back in time.
For those interested in religious history, the town boasts several ancient churches, including the Pieve di San Gennaro, which houses a precious terracotta sculpture attributed to Leonardo da Vinci. The church's simple yet beautiful façade belies the artistic treasure within.
The surrounding countryside of Capannori is a patchwork of olive groves and vineyards, offering travelers the chance to indulge in authentic Tuscan gastronomy. Local farms and wineries provide tours and tastings, allowing visitors to savor the region's renowned olive oils and wines. The area is also known for its traditional dishes, which can be enjoyed in the town's charming trattorias and osterias.
Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the proximity to the Apuan Alps and the Garfagnana region, where hiking, cycling, and horseback riding trails abound. The landscape is dotted with picturesque villages and castles, making for delightful day trips and exploration.
Capannori's location is also ideal for those wishing to explore the wider region of Tuscany. It is a short drive from the historic city of Lucca, with its well-preserved Renaissance walls and cobblestone streets, and within easy reach of Pisa, Florence, and the Tuscan coast.
In essence, Capannori is a destination that offers a slice of Tuscan life away from the crowds. Its historic villas, beautiful countryside, and rich cultural heritage make it a perfect spot for travelers seeking relaxation, inspiration, and a taste of the Italian dolce vita.
