The Old Town, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a labyrinth of cobblestone streets lined with colorful buildings draped in bougainvillea. Notable landmarks include the Clock Tower Gate and the San Felipe de Barajas Castle, one of the most impressive fortresses constructed by the Spanish in their colonies.
The city's location on the Caribbean Sea provides it with stunning beaches where visitors can unwind under the sun or engage in water sports. The Rosario Islands, located just off Cartagena's coast, are renowned for their crystal-clear waters and coral reefs abundant with marine life - an ideal spot for snorkeling or scuba diving.
